Best Mixed Drink to Cure a Cold

Best Mixed Drink to Cure a Cold

There has been a lot of debate about whether or not you can cure a cold with whiskey. Being a whiskey aficianado, I've got to take a side on this one.

When the average joe gets a cold, he does one of two things:
  • visits the doctor
  • or buys over the counter medication

Other people will mix drinks to get rid of a cold and have as much success or more than the average joe. Like anything else in the world, mankind has found yet another way to profit off of the misfortune and sickness of other men. Look at how many freakin' different types of cold medications there are now. Every year some new company is pushing another new and improved medication...

Let me just get to the point here before I start rambling too much...cold medications don't cure the cold, they just numb the symptoms.

So if you want to do more than suppress the symptoms, you should give this a try:

  • 1 ounce of whisky
  • 1 lemon's juice (sqeezed freshly)
  • 3-4 ounces of hot water

If you have any dried peppermint leaves lying around you should put some in this mixed drink as well.

About Crown Royal Drinks

About Crown Royal Drinks

Are you such a Crown fan that you were hoping to find a website dedicated solely to Crown Royal?

Guess what? Wish granted! That's all I care to talk about here-any and everything related to Crown Royal. I will be talking about how to mix Crown Royal drinks and various Crown Royal news. And the best part is I will probably be drinking my favorite mixed drink while I'm writing, a drink which I like to call a "Whiskey-Pepper".

You can probably figure that one out on your own, but for the sake of everyone else I will tell you how to make a Whiskey-Pepper. It's way too easy to make so you really can't mess this one up. Also, I'd like to say that if you're under 21 you definitely shouldn't be trying anything I say here. That said, let's begin:

First, take out your favorite drinking glass and put some ice cubes in it.

Then take out your bottle of CR and pour 2-3 oz. of whiskey in your glass.

Next, pour some Dr. Pepper in with the Crown and gently shake.

The last step is vague, I know. You should pour the Dr. Pepper in to your own taste. Some people like to put a splash of DP in so that they can taste the whiskey. Some put more, some put less. So it would be best if you mix slowly and sip it until you've found the way you like your Crown Royal drink mixed.

Anyways, I think I'll have another.

Until next time-cheers!
